এখানে বৃষ্টি হয় না বহুকাল 

এখানে রুক্ষতা ছেয়ে রয় বার মাস,

এখানে বর্ষারা পায় চৈত্রের খড়া

এখানে বৃষ্টি হয় না বহুকাল।

কখনো ভাবিনি নিজেকে এভাবে

আকাশের নীলের মত উড়িয়ে দেব

ভাবিনি নিজেকে যত্ন করে

অনিশ্চিত পথে ছেড়ে দেব,

ভেবেছিলাম, তুমি আসবে

আমায় কেবল জড়িয়ে নিয়ে 

নিশ্চিত তুমি রইবে।

দুনিয়ায় ভালো আছে যারা আমার চেয়ে

তারা কখনো ভাবেনি, কতটা একা আছে।

নিবিড় চঞ্চলতা যার হৃদয়ে নেই

বেঁচে থাকার ছন্দ তার অজানা, 

বেঁচে থাকা তার অর্থহীন।

তুমি চলে যেও ডুবজল সাঁতরে 

আমি একটি ধারে চুপটি রব বসে,

হাতে নিয়ে পুকুরের ঘোলা জল

হেসে বলব, "তুই বড় ভাগ্যবান, ভাগ্যবতী"!

নির্জলা সত্যি কথা বলে বলে

আজ আমি মিথ্যেবাদি,

আজ হতে করব অভিনয় 

"ভালো মানুষ হবার অভিনয়‌‌‌"!

কারো মনের ঘরে ডাকাত দেইনি 

কারো মনের রাখিনি সন্ধান, 

তবু আমি নাকি মনচোরা 

বলিয়েরা করে নানা সন্ধান।
